Over the past few months, I have been writing a book. It is called Fire-Eyes, and is basically a fantasy. A list of the main
characters is below.
Sharu
('Shuh-roo')
Sharu is an eighteen year old human boy. He lives in the land of Randahim, a country full of prarie. He has brown hair, stands five foot eleven, and is not very strong. He is an excellent shot with a bow.
Keddy
('Ke-dee')
Keddy is a sixteen year old human boy. He lives in the city of Arden, a city in Randahim. He is the best pick-pocket in the city, and Sharu's best friend. He is an expert shot with a sling.
Emyer
('Aim-yare')
Emyer is a forty-five year old human. He is a member of the Altwine, a group trained by the Elves to keep the peace. He, like the rest of the Altwine, can use magic with the staff he carries. He also carries a sword, a no-no among the Altwine.
Fyra
('Fee-ruh')
Fyra is a half-elf, half-human. He comes from the Elf Forest, Laramir, and was banished, because of his human blood. For a weapon he uses a long Elven sword, plain except for a long wire thin line that runs from the base to the tip.
Alkarem
('Al-kuh-rem')
Alkarem is the King of the Prarie Dwarves. His parents were killed, years before the time of the story, by the Nark'hu, a desert people. His weapon is a short sword, an extreme rarity among the axe and bow loving Prarie Dwarves.
Others
Algor Laroon- A scheming Randahim Government official.
Asufeld- An Elf who greatly resents Sharu's quick rise in fame.
Scraw- The leader of the gang which captures Sharu in Arden
Magloon- A dwarf who attempts to betray the elvish army to the Nark'hu.
Storyline
Sharu, an eighteen year old human, lives in the land of Randahim, a land of praries. He is taking some furs which he caught into the town of Arden, when he is captured by a gang that is hired by the Randahim government to capture men and force them to join the army. He meets up with another boy in the group, Keddy, who is sixteen, and a half- human, half-elf called Fyra.
While travelling to the training fields, the group is attacked by the Nark'hu. They are a short desert people, who are very violent and greedy. While they are being attacked, Emyer and another dwarf drag Sharu, Keddy, and Fyra into the dwarf kingdom of Alkar. There Sharu learns that he was born in The South, and was not born in Randahim, and who he thought was his father really was not. He had just seen him in a slave market, and took pity on him. He also learns that he is the subject of an ancient Elvish prophecy, which states that he will save Randahim from invasion by a combined army of Nark'hu and Southerners.
He, along with Keddy and Fyra, is taken to the Elvish kingdom of Laramir, and taught the basics of army leadership and battle tactics. He is also begins being trained as an Altwine. While there, a large army of Nark'hu and Southerners attack the capital city of Randahim, called Nordaine. He leads an army of Men and Elves against them. They regain the city, but are quickly surrounded by Nark'hu reinforcements. During the fighting Sharu enters a large temple. In it was buried the Elf who had made the prophecy that he would save Randahim. He touches the grave, and suddenly he becomes 'posessed.' He kills many Nark'hu and Southeners, before being almost killed himself. Keddy is killed during the battle.
However, at the last moment a large army of Elf and Dwarf reinforcements arrives and drives the Nark'hu and Southeners out. Sharu is taken back to Laramir, where he begins to finish his training as an Altwine.
